Director -Elle Shaaban-Magaña
Mrs. Shaaban currently serves as Director for The University of Alabama Women’s Resource Center. She has worked to expand services to better reach marginalized groups and provide more comprehensive, inclusive programs addressing gender issues on campus. Elle brings to the center experience in the area of coalition building and outreach program development. With an educational background in the areas of communications, education, and human development and family studies, she has previously worked in the fields of social services, child welfare, and the judicial system. She serves as a consultant to the Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Alabama Coalition Against Rape, and has provided consulting services on violence against women to colleges and universities across the nation. Elle is fluent in Spanish and volunteers as a translator for local social service agencies. She is a member of many professional associations including the American Association of University Women, National Council on Family Relations, and National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, and the National Organization of Women.

Assistant Director -Holly Morris
Ms. Morris currently serves as Assistant Director for the Women’s Resource Center. Holly works with the leadership programs at the WRC, including the Young Women Leaders Program (YWLP) and the Women Involved in Learning and Leading program (WILL). She serves as a liaison to other campus and community partners in the area of leadership, service and student involvement. Holly is also responsible for coordinating special events for the WRC.
Holly received her Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Administration and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Alabama
In addition, she works in coordination with women’s Greek councils across the Southeast. Holly serves as a facilitator for the National LeaderShape Institute. She is an alumna of The XXXI, The Anderson Society, Mortar Board, Omicron Delta Kappa and Blue Key. |

Staff
Therapist - Kathy Wilson
Ms. Wilson came to the WRC in March 2005. Kathy provides free and
confidential individual counseling to victims of interpersonal violence.
She helps with the advocacy services and coordinates the 24 Hour On Call
program to respond to crises involving violence against women. She
facilitates a variety of groups on women's issues including the Artist's
Way at Work and the EveryWoman Book Club. She is active on many
campus-wide initiatives surrounding such issues as eating disorders and
suicide awareness. Kathy received her bachelor's degree in Music and a
master's degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama. She is
also co-owner of The Globe Restaurant in Downtown Historic Northport.
In her spare time, she enjoys being with family and friends, and working
with Theatre Tuscaloosa.

Administrative Secretary - Vera Johnson
Ms. Vera Johnson came to the WRC in 2004. As administrative secretary, Vera performs various office duties which include scheduling client appointments, fielding direct-client and other calls to the center, overseeing the Francis Summersell Library, assisting in the coordination of center assessments, assisting in event planning, and supervising the work-study students. She has eight years of experience as an administrative assistant at Greensboro West High School and twenty years as a secretary/bookkeeper in the private sector. Vera holds her Associates degree from Troy Stae University. In her spare time, Vera volunteers in the West Alabama community.
